Prime Minister to visit Malaysia on November 20, says FO

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal has said Prime Minister Imran Khan will fly to Malaysia on a two-day visit on November 20. ARY News reported on Thursday.

” During the visit, the premier is scheduled to hold meetings with his Malaysian counterpart and other state officials. The focus will be the promotion of economic cooperation between the two sides, said Dr. Faisal while speaking in his weekly briefing to media.

Expressing his views with regard to Afghanistan authorities’ delay in handing over of the body of slain SP Tahir Dawar to Pakistan, the FO spokesperson said “Pakistan’s embassy has also lodged a protest with the Afghan authorities into the matter.”

He said Pakistan actively participated in the Russian sponsored peace talks on Afghanistan to promote reconciliation process, adding, Pakistani side emphasized the need for a negotiated settlement of the Afghan conflict to achieve  durable peace and stability in the region, he maintained.

Responding to a question asked during briefing about return of the afghan refugees, the spokesman said ” the process has been halted due to ongoing winter season, the return will be completed by the March next year.”

Talking about Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, he said Islamabad raised the issue with the US official Alice Wells during her recent visit of Pakistan. The officials of the Pakistani consulate met Aafia Siddiqui 10 times in last five years, he continued.

The spokesperson strongly condemned the state terrorism in Occupied Kashmir, martyring four more Kashmiri youth in fresh acts of barbarism in different parts of the held valley.

He lamented that Dukhtaran-e-Millat Kashmiri leader Aasia Andrabi is languishing in the Tihar Jail without any legal assistance.
