KARACHI: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi on Sunday demanded the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar to form a committee to monitor the anti-encroachment operation and urged the CJP to find out people behind such large scale illegal structures in the metropolis Karachi.
Addressing a ceremony in Karachi, Ali Haider Zaidi alleged that the people who had backed the illegal constructions and made money, are now demolishing the encroachments in the city.
He urged the chief justice to visit Karachi to review the whole issue and form a committee to monitor the anti-encroachment operation in Karachi.
The minister also hailed the contribution of Memon and Khawaja community in national development and progress.
MQM condemns removal of encroachments in Karachi
It is pertinent to mention here that MQM member of Sindh Assembly Khwaja Izhar-ul-Hasan, on April 11, had strongly condemned the removal of encroachments in Karimabad by the local administration.
Izhar opined that the way operation had been conducted clearly showed that the action was taken on PTI’s request to provide more facilities for PTI election camp in the area.
