ISLAMABAD: Former railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, who is in NAB custody on 10-day physical remand in a graft case, said on Thursday that political revenge is being taken in the name of accountability.
He was responding to questions put to him by reporters during his appearance in the Supreme Court.
NAB officials produced him before a three-judge bench of the apex court today for hearing of a case pertaining to the losses incurred by Pakistan Railways during his tenure.
The PML-N leader further said he was being meted out injustice and repression. “Revenge is being taken in the name of accountability,” he claimed.
He said a day will come when justice will prevail.
Yesterday, an accountability court granted physical remand of Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother former Punjab health minister Khawaja Salman Rafique until Dec 22 in a case related to the Paragon Housing Society scam.
NAB arrested the PML-N leaders after the Lahore High Court dismissed their bail pleas in the Paragon housing society scam on Dec 11.
It had launched the investigation into the scam in November this year after a number of victims staged protests and held a press conference at the Lahore Press Club against what they termed housing society’s fraud.
