CM Buzdar expresses grief over Christchurch incident

LAHORE: Expressing grief over loss of precious lives in New Zealand mosque attacks, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar underscored the need for effective measures at international level for prevention of such terror incidents.

Condoling with the bereaved families of martyrs, CM Buzdar said that they were standing in solidarity with them and all their sympathies are with the families of martyrs.

According to a statement released from his office, the chief minister thanked New Zealand Prime Minister Jaicand Arden who expressed her cohesion well with a commitment to the Muslim community. Paying tribute to Naeem Rashid, the chief minister said that the brave son of Pakistan without caring of his life tried to stop the terrorist and embraced martyrdom.

CM Buzdar said, “Whole Pakistani nation is proud of the bravery of Naeem Rashid and he is the hero of the Muslim community.”

The chief minister said that attack on mosques of Christchurch has trodden the sentiments of Muslims in the whole world around and this aggressive firing left everyone in tears.

He said that the terrorists have engraved history of barbarism by shedding the blood of innocent people.

Earlier, the Foreign Office on Sunday had confirmed the death of three more Pakistanis in Christchurch mosque shootings, increasing the number of Pakistanis who embraced martyrdom in the incident to nine.

According to spokesman Dr Muhammad Faisal, Zeeshan Raza, his father Ghulam Hussain and mother Karam Bibi had  been confirmed to have died in Friday’s terrorist attacks on two mosques in New Zealand.
